City Pied à Terre: Nob Hill Nest
After 30-years in Hillsborough, our client was moving her life forward with excitement and ease, bidding adieu to her one-acre Hillsborough estate. With a long list of nonnegotiables including location, views, light, and outdoor space, finding her new home was no small task. Simplicity, a touch of glamour, and discovering the work of artist Bernard Zawisa were primary and guiding forces in this retro-forward design. The playful intermix of thoughtfully selected pieces harmonize with the lively architectural details, including a spiral staircase to a private rooftop terrace complete with views of Coit Tower, San Francisco Bay, and Grace Cathedral. We blended hot pinks, rich sages and happy reds into a warm palette reflecting our client’s vibrant personality and taste. Creating and curating her personal jewel box was a pure joy. Welcome to the Nob Hill Nest.

St. Dominic’s Church is proud to receive the honor of Porta Sancta from The Vatican. Let us tell you more about this special honor.
Meaning "Holy Door" in Latin, Porta Sancta holds a special significance within the Christian faith. Its presence symbolizes a passage to a sacred place, a threshold to spiritual reconciliation, and a gateway to the divine presence.
Traditionally, the Porta Sancta can be found in select churches around the world, which are designated Papal Basilicas during the Holy Years. These exclusive portals are only opened on these extraordinary occasions, such as the Jubilee Year, and are closed for the rest of the time. This symbolic act of becoming a Pilgrimage Site reminds believers of the transient nature of life and the opportunity for renewal and redemption that these holy periods offer.
Hand in hand with the 150th Jubilee are goals of preservation. These are the maintenance and attention to repairs and restoration to ensure that all can partake of this spiritual embodiment in the next Century.
